Tower Shoot
The Tower Shoot was held at Stoney Creek Preserve approximately five miles from the Town and Country Kitchen. I don't know the exact number of pheasants that were released. I'd say 100 or so..... but Stoney Creek Preserve should have a good number of live birds to hunt the next couple of weeks. The ammunition manufactures should be smiling with the amount of shells shot. There was lots of fine dog work to be seen. But the dogs seemed a little disappointed in the handlers. Everyone and every dog had lots of fun. It was the high lite of the season's end for the twins and me. Garrett DeBruhl shot the money bird worth $55.00. Garrett donated the money back to DEHRC! Thanks Garrett, keep shooting!

Congratulations to Richard and RWR’s Hot Chocolate Devil Dog-Damien for taking first place in the Super Singles Competition
hold on August 15 at Weller's Kennels. Again the Weller's were fantastic host and the grounds were in great shape. Keith and his dog, Luke took second place in the fierce competition.
Many club members came out for the competition, training, and fellowship despite the scorching temperatures.

Update on Webb Property. Was told today that the Recreation Dept has finally received the permits from the state. Bill Ellis stated work
will get started very soon. They are finishing up the expansion of the campground at the Nature Center, then moving over to the dog park. Once the work is complete, we will have another area to train and test on.
Some photos of the area:

June 6, 2008: The club now has access to 4 or 5 ponds on grounds that the Nature Center recently acquired. We will be able to put up a gate to keep people out. The banks around the ponds and the berms have weeds and bushes that need to be trimmed or cut down to maximize their use. We are in need of members to come down and have a work day.
Dog Philosophy:
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.
